Because that is one of the names the Caribbean is known as.

Personally i use both, but i know CC was the one that called it that.

If you would like to educate and enlighten everyone as to why you prefer to use the term Caribbean then thats all good, but you're asking the question like EVERYONE MUST know this, and that is not the case.

Do you also call all the Caribbean islands their original names too?
