Well the important thing is that we agree on a lot of things, She believed Jesus died for her, she believe in the Holy Spirit etc She says she doesn't believe that Jesus is God, which is wrong. It is true that you put words in my mouth, I said reading,meditating on the bible and asking the Holy spirit to show the things of Gods are the way to understand the bible. But what you have done is to say I said it is the only way to understand the Bible. I never used the word only. You see you are quoting me wrongly. New believers may need some help from those who have more insight, so you can learn from others, teachers, preachers etc.

Finally, you are right John wasn't there in the beginning, but he was a Disciple of Jesus. He was taught by the Master who was there in the Beginning. So he has every right to write what he has written. Furthermore, he had an Encounter with God or a revelation. So he knows a lot.
