In my experience this tends to affect women long term a lot more than it does men. We may think we can do what the guys do, but our emotional make-up is a lot different to theirs.
Women dont stay at home next to their phone any more waiting and hoping that the man they bedded last night will phone. But they clutch on to their mobile phones all day long and curse that each text message that comes through is not from him.
I think women invest a lot more of themselves into their dalliances with the opposite sex. Its different when you;re young to be free and easy but I know a lot of women in the therapy room beat themselves up as they grow older for their promiscuous past.
