Imborn and raised inLondon and I love this town.
Everybody from all over the world is here. They say that about other places too (like NY) but here we actually talk and socialise outside our little groups as well. White people and Asians can jam with us and feel no way. In NY that just ain't so.
Its like a collection of towns each with their own character, slang, dress, urban myths and its all funny. We all squabble but were all London.
If you an artsy person theres a lot for you, If you a raving person theres a lot for you, If you want to study theres a lot for you and everyone comes here to work so...
No matter how much we complain about transport we can still get about anywhere, at anytime with relative ease.
I haven't experienced 'overt' racism since my youth. Other UK towns have black communities dominated by either African or Carribean groups but in London its 50 50 and that is refelcted in my friends.
London is damn big man, Im in my mid twenties and I still haven't seen all of it! Im an East Londoner, I know East, central and Sowf inside out but only parts of NW and W, (who does unless they're black cabs?)
London has 14 pro football clubs, 14!. Despite other towns calling themselves 'football towns' London actually is. With our two teams at 1 and 2 in the league (even though I don't support either) Its a good thing
