Depends on the player, a true playing will never be alone, they may not get the actual person they wish for but there will be many consolation prizes available to them.

You are only worth how much somebody thinks you are. If the opposite sex thinks they can get something closer to their dream then your worth demises. It’s irrelevant whether their dream is no good for them. Take for example, how many people would buy a reliable Skoda (not too bad nowadays) as apposed to an unreliable BMW? They’ll buy the BMW because it more fashionable and hope its unreliability will some how correct itself. Only total unhappiness changes that.

You only get in this life, what you put in it.

In relationships, you get in life what people are willing to give you. The best anyone can do is make themselves as presentable as they can and hope its enough.
