The reason I feel there should some form of representation is that more often than not we are stereotyped. In my job clients are seeking professional advise from me and my bosses are always trying to second guess me.You may say this is due to my level of expertise (I disagree). This is not always the case for other colleagues.

I don't go around apologising for what black people have done wrong, however, I do need to demonstrate that this black man has his own mind and can articulate it.

It does grieve me when there are unbalanced media reports about black people because we have very little space to address the matter. Therefore in some ways I cannot dismiss things and say that's nothing to do with me.

Although most posters here have said that they represent themselves, do you not think that the wider population(maybe the ignorant ones)are saying 'yeah that is how they all act' when you are carrying out your everyday life?
