I've been using echinacea for at least a decade and I rarely get a cold or the flu; but echinacea is only helpful if you know how much and when/when not to take it, inasmuch as it can have side effects if not used correctly.

You're absolutely right about that.niceone.gif
You have to know when and WHEN NOT to take it!
I've been using echinacea for nearly 5 years every since it cured me of the flu after only 2 days.
But the problem is, I got so confident in echinacea that I let my guard down too often.
They say you should take it at the first sign of a cold, but if I get the sniffles I wait 3 or 4 days hoping they'll go away before I'm forced to by a new bottle of Echinacea.
It usually works right after I take it, but a few months ago I caught a wicked cold/cough and instead of taking my usual dose of 1 1000MG pill twice a day...I was wolfing down 3 1000MG pills 3 times a day!
But even after going through the entire bottle of 60 pills, 2 weeks later my cold was still going strong...and getting stronger!
Echinacea was my last hope before deciding to finally just go to the doctor and get a prescription, but I just dread taking any type of antibiotics so I decided to wait another week before going.
Then I read how a person could take too much echinacea and burn their immune system.
After a week off, I started taking my light dose of echinacea again and my cold/cough was gone the next day.
