You do still have to do the 3years crap (I’m in the TA and even they insist on the 3years) The pay is ok if your a poor 17yr old like me but on a whole the pay isn't that great. No I don't think they should make it like the old days the Army is bollocks it's full of men (and women) high on power trips, they base their discipline on intimidation and bullying-Highly homophobic. The same is true for the TA, I’m not exactly in agreement with lying to soldiers, giving them poor equipment and sending them to a poor country (e.g. Iraq or peace keeping in Somalia) to shoot the crap out of peasants.
