In this case I am unsure what the scripture Ahmaad showed us here does mean, but I know it is not as clear cut as he would wish it. As Kanobi wrote once, you guys really need to stop reading in a vacuum passages of scripture, really you do.

JV, if you were on trial for your life and a judge ordered you to KEEP SILENT IN THE COURT and if you have any questions ASK YOUR LAWYER.....
Would you point to the lawyers and witnesses and say since THEY are speaking and have spoken then you should also have that right?
Or would you just obey the judge's instructions and keep your mouth shut?

Again, I'd like to re-iterate that as a Muslim I DO NOT AGREE with either of those passages and feel women should have the right to not onlyspeak in all religious institutions, but learn in them as well.
