It's funny how you mention the headnod and the what's up in the states. I always have nonblacks ask me, "Do you know him, who was that, is that your cousin" Its so funny and regular that I take it for granted. Then on the notion of rallying around Blacks, I remember the OJ thing, we defend the Nation of Islam, stand up for Louima, march for Diallo and the whole nine. I guess things ain't as bad as it seems huh?
To answer the post:
I have yet to reach English shores but from what I've been reading and from a few friends that travel back and forth Blacks seem to be divided on Nationalities, the Africans versus the West Indians, Nigerians vs, Ghanans, Jamaicans vs Trini's. Its, the notion of such a small population group to be so fractured. Is there a Black Leader a al Farrakahn, Jesse Jackson, Desmond Tutu in the UK?
Say it LOUD! "I\'M BLACK and I\'M PROUD!"
