I cant remember, is that the prequel or sequel to 'east of Acre lane'?? I liked both books a lot as I recall. The slang of the early 80s was funny as hell!

Brixton Rock is the prequel to East.. I finished Brixton and now i'm reading East of Acre Lane. I enjoy the way Alex Wheatle writes. It's gritty, colourful, very real and even though the slang he writes was from the 80s, so much of it is still relevant now. i hear so much of the slang on the streets still. If you're a londoner and you love black london, read these books! i love all the music detail aswell, he quotes artists and songs of all the reggae beats of that era. loves it!clp)
