When the Bible says don't take "The Lord's Name" in vain.


It doesn't mean it the way it's popularly interpreted.

Saying "Oh my God" and "Goddammit" is perfectly fine!

Why....because "God" and "Lord" are English terms and the name that was being refered to in those scriptures were the Hebrew names for the Creator.

Words like Yawah, Elohim, Hashem, Adoni, El Elyon were the words used for the God of the Hebrews.
