This does not just apply to AAs, it happens here as well, I never got a sense that they were afraid of us. I know that they can't stand our guts to the core, and that is because we wipe the floor with them in terms of intellect, poise, CONFIDENCE, grace and independence. We look in the mirror and see all that is good with us (well come of do, some sistahs are lost with the bleaching, weave etc).
We see them as weak and fragile, because we have had to be so strong and thick skinned. Being a black woman is a blessing... and they know it.
I know that when I walk into a room with white women, they are always staring with that fake smile they like to do, looking me up and down... to the point that I have to say something sometimes. (btw - has anyone else noticed this?) I am not saying that I am no oil painting.. but I'm not bad either.... I just carry myself tall and proud like my mother raised me to be.
This reminds of when I was on the bus a few years back and thispretty shapely African sista came on the bus talking onthe mobile in her language. Two white women were sitting near the entrance and one of the wretches gave the sista dirty looks then turned to her friend. I remember thinking how the presence of a beautiful sista with a look that goes against the european grain is ENOUGH to evoke feelings of insecurity and jealousy in white women.
