The thing is that war can be an immense motivator and english have been frontline trying to find new and better ways to kill and maim. Thereare alot of inventions that would never have seen the light of the day had it not been for potential use in war (this applies to more peeps than the english). It is quite sad that for humans to invent/create we need war as a motivator....
