thismay seem likegoing down the testy road of whose fault it is that we are in the situation we are in today, but it is not. i am wise enough not to blame the lynched man for the lynching, rather than the lynch mob. this is about the role we have played, repeatedly, the role we are playing even now, even at these forums we frequent, the role we have played through the ages, that has brought all this on ourselves, destroyed our civilization, and rendered us to huts, slums, and second class status wherever we are a minority or otherwise.
even the dangers that are plaguing mankind today are a direct consequence of our inability to keep our mouths shut, to keep what we know to ourselves, to realize a stage once reached is an evolutionary step, that you cannot simply give it toanother and all out there without allowing them to develop gradually for wisdom to take hold wthin their makeup.
but no! we have to talk, we have to show how well we can think, how much we know about this or that issue, how deep our intellectual perception is. we are pleasers whowant to ingratiate ourselves into the favours of others by impressing them with how much we can see, how well we can do something. this is not a new thing, one restricted to our time. partly because they felt it was a good thing to do, but also partly because of this complex, our ancestors had to go out in the world and teach, become renouned professors, spread civilization, only ending up making others jealous and hungry for that magic well of knowledge, the magic wand that opens doors, makes man powerful. so eager were our ancestors to speak what they knew they didn't realize their students would soon use what they had learnt to destroy us... check the record for the past 10 thousand years, go back as far as ancient greece, even beyond in some other places. the patern you find there is a playing out of exactly what i am saying here.
funny how Franz Fanon was one of the most hated black men of his time, hunted by the French, survived several assasination attempts, killed eventually by the Americans, right at the time he was suffeing from one of their induced diseases, leukemia. whether it was ignorance of who had given him the disease, or that he actually had no choice left, he entered America, very sick at the time, but was kept in an interogation room for too long by the CIA. he died a few days after that. he was so hated, yet activities of his haters reveal he was actually secretly admired, because after his death they delved into his philosophy, they delved into his logic, almost made a discpline of this. over the period since he died, Franz Fanon's works may be some of the most studied in the west, with numerous books, numerous intellectuals getting in on the act to figure out the civilization within his genes that was hidding between his words. innocuous seeming things he said, even we say sometimes, can have advanced applications in things we may not even be aware of, sometimes in fields that seem not to even be related to what is being put down in script.
its the same old song, same old ish where even our ancestors are not allowed to rest in peace in their tombs, where we the descendants are preyed upon in our own homes, our forums. after all else was runsacked, searched and upturned in the Egyptian deserts and other places, after these relicshad yielded their most precious secrets, the descendants of the people became the new objects of study in an ongoing search for the key, as indeed civilization is also etched deep within their genes. problem is we the descendantsare in such a decrepit statewe hardly know how to utilize ourspiritual wealth in the here and now, to our advantage, and it is actually in the best interests of those who dominate the world at the present to maintain this state of being, to prevent us from knowing or accidentally discovering/stumbling intothe catalytic culture that enables efficient expression, frees our creativie potentials.
pharao remains were once upon a time cooked and eaten "in the hope of gaining some of that old wisdom", and the same is happening to us the descendants figuratively speaking. this will sound strange, stupid or silly to many, but it is true. we are at present, at least those among us they have identified as direct descendants of the best that was (and believe me they know because they have done their homework as an imperative), but sacrifices on the alter of science, observed in all we do, listened to whatever we sa. as i said already, though we may not know it, some of what we bring forth contains wisdom beyond our imaginations.
there is a pressing need for us toshush the mocking bird. you may not have heard of it, you think they may not have heard of it, you think you may need to tell them about it... keep it at thought and private conversation because believe me, they know. no matter how ignant a black person seems, no matter how stupid their speach or behaviour, deep down what you think you have to say to help them out of their abyss is already known to them, sometimes in language you cannot even comprehend. we all know what is going on, we are all keeping the plot, that means you, me, the brother on the streets stabbing somebody, the sister selling her body. we know, and trying too hard to give verbal shape to our misery taps too deeply into the well of knowledge we have stored within us. we are not beneficiaries of this wealth in the end, and, the way the world is narrow mindedly arranged today, this knowledge will be used against us.
above all we have to stop thinking about our life as a people in present terms. by this i mean we need to develop and share an outlook about life in the minds of all our people that creates relationships, correlations between what is happeningn to us now as being a continuation of what has been happening to us for thousands of years. this is the only way we will get to understand why things are the way they are at present. there are things that happen to Africans today that cannot possibly be explained by events on the ground,by aspirations of some classes or people, like politicians. the IRA where fighting for independence but non of the stuff that is being done to us (repression et al) was done to them. obviously, there is something else that's at play, something deeper going on that we can only get to grips with through the esoteric, that branch of black knowledge that deals with such obscure issues as melanin, etc.
