I'm a bit confused here.... She's the 'most outstanding parent of the year' because:
- She makes sure her children do their homework to a decent standard?
- She attends parent's meetings at the school?
- She give her children chores to do at home?
- She has high ambitions for her children?
Surely these are what any responsible parent should be performing as a norm, regardless of economic background. Is this a sad example of black people giving someone extra credit for something she should be doing anyway?
Yes, she has given birth to five children, but in that whole back-slapping article, do you see the word 'father' mentioned even once? Where is he (or they)?
