that video footage looks like a melee to me, not an execution. it was in fact a lynching no different from those... ahem! i can understand there were a lot of people who were in a hurry to see him dead, butpresure from within and withoutthe regime to expediously and publicly get rid of him even though his being alive is vital to much needed and ongoing"truth, justice and reconciliation" efforts... of course there were those who wanted revenge. Saddam had crushed many a man's balls during his rule, and many were hungry for revenge. I also know there werethose who became increasinglyfearful ofwhat he increasingly symbolized on the ground, and not in the media where everything is absurdly twisted: hence what we clearly witnessed;victor's justice where the victor is barely hanging on, if not for the...i guess this is why the throng exuded so much low self esteem, more than the man being hanged?! just wondering whether this will balance things out for them.

strange how a legitimate hanging is done by hooded individuals. and what's that about Moqtada (sp)? has anyone heard what he has to say about the hanging himself, in his own words. i am intrigued to learn his interpretation of what transpired in that place. i bet you he is as miffed, and probably as disgusted as most people are, which is why few will give him airtime.

question now is who were those people who hanged Saddam? who are they in actual fact? we know they are with the government, but are they Kurds masquerading as Moqtada loyalists to fuel sectarian violence, to hurry Iraq into civil war? i know many people want this to happen, doesn't only have to be the Kurds. in fact i am aware this is the plan, was the plan from the get go. that country has to go back to the 14th century. this is an imperative for some parties.

another thing: that was the real Saddam. his looks is what happens to you when you are a hated prisoner inthat prison. his denture has deteriorated considerably, but he still holds his jaw and twists his lips in the same way the real Saddam would. chances of a double doing it as well as the real person, for so long on camera are slim.
