I know.....I just don't know what this fool was thinking. confused3I mean even the most coconut minded among us would see this advert is nothing short of pure disgrace to the entire African community. This is something I would have expected to see in the late 70s early 80s not in 2007 for goodness sake.
We're the only community continually disgraced in the media and who ALLOW ourselves to be degraded and think nothing of it. I remember when the chinese community in the UK were outraged when there was an ad for sweet and sour sauce and the guy in the ad was performing kung fu moves. Ever since then, their complaints were taken seriously and no one has portrayed them like that ever since because the chinese community know themselves and are taken far more seriously than we can currently ever hope to be.
As Sister Sirius said, they made two europeans give him the dirtiest looks and I also noticed they were careful not to have any other Africans in the ad looking at him like he's crazy, because that would have hinted at normality within the African community and the advert makers or whatever they are weren't gonna allow that, as they were clear they wanted a watermelon eating sambo in their ad to destroy the image of Africans - Caribbeans in particular.
Believe me, I hope that 'brotha' is reading this or someone who knows him is because he should be ashamed of himself for what he did. I hope Ligali run an article on this advert because it was the worse advert I've ever seen.
