Wait ... U tryna say this Vista just buns up your hard drive :?
Memory, known as RAM, and the hard drive are two different things.
The Random Access Memory these days is 256 megabyte to 4,000 megabytes or 4 gigabytes. This is purely electronic memory with no moving parts.
The Hard Drive is a mechanical device that spins. An old hard drive might be only 10 gigabytes. It's difficult to find a drive smaller than 80 gigabytes these days and 250 gigabytes isn't unusual.
Modern operating systems have what is called Virtual Memory capabilities. This treats space on the hard drive as part of memory. Windows has a page file which performs this function. All of this fancy graphics uses up more memory so Windows can get faster if you install more memory because there is a lot less paging. This paging should theoretically cause more wear and tear on your hard drive.
I would not be surprised if Vista does this more than XP.
