I remember when I thought 100 megabytes was a big hard drive. We were putting them in servers. Performance at doing what? I am beginning to think that nowadays the only way performance can be bad is because the software is crap. And it might be the operating system.

It'll be used mainly for work purposes (spreadsheets, Sage & MYOB), but I'm getting wireless Broadband (as soon as Tiscali send me my MAC code!) and I don't want to compromise either the laptop or desktop.

As an aside, yesterday I received a critical update to download something to ensure my version of Windows is legal (I'm sure it is but don't want to take the chance). I didn't instal it - was this right?
