I think some here are missing the point of what Toyin did. Europeans by and large, not only refuse to acknowledge the LINGERING,economic/psychic/physical damage of the slave trade and slavery, they don't want to pay reparations, they try to minimize the effects of it, they don't even want to concede that we were active agents in obtaining our OWN freedom(hence the distortions/ movies propaganda/ about their largesse and generosity in GIVING us our freedom). The disrespect is neverending. For me personally, they can stick any apology up their asses, I want reparations,(pay us like u owe us for all the years that you hoe'd us, as Jay-z once said). However, I understand what Toyin was trying to accomplish by asking for it from the two symbols of British power. Sometimes for there to be any meaningful dialog, or resolution of conflict, or just clearing of the air, you have to do something to get the attention of theperson/people you are dealing with.(that usually involves making THEM uncomfortable in some way, disturbing THEIR peace, btw), usually at a time that is NOT convenient or pleasing to them, lol.

This statement is so correct I am surprised to read that some still in this day and age question what why and where Toyin chose to say and do in regards to this matter. What he did was not only correct but the manner and place where he chose to do it was spot on.

In one action he said

1. Shove your ceremony up your arse

2. Shove your monarch up your arse

3. kiss my arse all you politicians

4. Find your back bone and stand tall you are an African to all those Africans attending the tea party ceremony with their heads held down.

5. Also let not forget the icing on the cake topped with a nice cherry ........one African man uprooted the whole security system and could've taken out the Queen and Prime Minister if that was his intention.

Toyin and ligali is going to need more than ever genuine support now physically spiritually and financially we need to do what we can. The system is going to try and break him down and what he stands for we should remember to voice our supportive opinion at every given opportunity in whatever way we can.
