while i agree in theory and practice with a child being adopted out of poverty (and in this case into relative luxery) i also believe that it is better for a child to be adopted by a couple/family of the same background as them.

That being said, one of the first topics i started when i joined this forum was about adoption. The view i got from some posters was that they would only be willing to adopt a member of their own extended family and would not consider adopting an "outsider" or "stranger" child. This may be why there are so many Black childen in need of doption/fostering.

So if Black folks aren;t willing to adopt these kids, can;t really blame folks who do, though, as i already stated, it would till be my preference for a Black child to go to a family of the same background as them.
