Unless I am wrong they have such things in the past, but they can't be everywhere. They are up in their arms with shyt to deal with, whether that is cops killing brothers or racist statements etc. They also spearhead the fight against some rappers. Why don't YOU get up and do something ? If you feel their priorities are wrong, then deal with that yourself.

I really don't know where to begin since you obviously are NOT Afro-American are trying toplaythe devil's advocate game. But since I'm replying, I mightas well ATTEMPT to 'clue you in'. First and formost this Hip-hop culture that you see now was in no ways present in my mother and father's generation. There wasn't thishuge black on black crime rate that there is now, or all these drugdealers, baby mommas, and spending $150 on a pair of sneakers. Again, you wouldn't know this becauseyour parents are NOTAA people (and probably didn't know America from Australia when all this was going on), but I know. This came inas result of BET and theinfluence rap music that it plays. In fact if one looks at statistics before the 1960's (mine you myfather was born in 1951) there were more WHITE men in prison that AA men!!!!clp) There were also DOUBLE the amount of AA ownedbusinesses back in my parents and grandparents generation.

Andfrankly its funny you dare challenge me to what I"m doing. LOL. I'm doing the BEST thing that one can do. I plan to raise mykidds to be proud, strong, and EDUCATED Afro-American children. clp)Thank god that people IN MY COMMUNITY are finally admitting that there is a serious problem in the break down of families in the AA community.

I assume you mean the "inner city comment",, where she said that young blacks could go to school if they wanted to, since it's FREE. And she has definittely put some HEAT on rappers, labels and BETetc. As a matter of facts Ludacris and 50cent have been waging a war on her for this.

Whether you as a little African boy living in the US agree with Oprah's comment's is your business. But me as a concerned AA person I found her comments towards her community quite offense considering our history. What' is the most ironic about Oprahs' comments is that I remember specifically her breaking into tears on the "African-American lives" PBS series when she found her great-great grandfather founded a school for slaves back in the day. She cried her ugly little face off that one of her ancestors had believed that Black people could learn whenall theinterlectuals in the countryat the time said it was IMPOSSIBLE/BLACKS CAN'T/AND BY ALL MEANS DON'T WANT TO LEARN.!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course White South Africans say the same thing about Black South Africans as Oprah says about her people : THEY DON'T WANT TO SUCCEED!!!! Mind you in South Africa, Black Africans make up 80% of the population (compare that to AA people's 13%) and they STILL MANAGE to be at the bottom of the barrel on their own soil. And Like in MOST OF AFRICA, Indians and Chinese people come in and in 1 generations prove that you don't have to be White to be sucessful its about HARD WORK and spending your money wisely(which apperently the Indians in South Africa have more of than Black Africans). And trust me, Indian South Africans seem to be managing to save money FOR THEIR CHILD's education no matter what. Free or not. And they faced the same apartheid that Africans there faced, the only difference was their race was classed as COLOURED.

No, it's because your generation is lazy and lacks values. You are the ones doing all theshyt. Oprah and Jesse's generations fought YT so that you could get some damn rights...and look who you are throwing them away. Damn this blame game has gone too damn far.

Believe it or not but Afro-American children don't burst out of their mothers womb after 12 hours of labor dreaming of shiny rims, Nikes, and f**king hoes! THEY HAVE TO BE TAUGHT THAT FROM SOMEBODY OR SOMEWHERE. Its obvious that they are getting most of this from BET, but what is also obvious is that AA parents, AGAIN OPRAHS GENERATION WHICH MY FATHER IS IN BEING 55 YEARS OLD, are not teaching social values to counter this influence from RAP AND BET.

Why is that so hard to understand???? You seem to be able to speak English fairly well for a foriegner.confused3

Most other people (outside of you), when they see children 10 years old and can't read or write believe its the parents fought for not teaching them HOW TO READ. According to you though, its the 10 year olds' fought because his or her parents(if they are AA)are out busy doing boycotts, sitins and getting other Civil Rights Acts put into place and are far to busy to teach their children how to read.
