Boy's jaw broken in 'race attack'

Police said the attack was "vicious and unprovoked" Police are looking for a man who is suspected of breaking a black schoolboy's jaw in a racist attack.
The 15-year-old was at a bus stop in London Road, south-east London, on 15 March when the black man, aged in his forties, shouted racist abuse at him.
He set upon the youth who had asked him to stop, punching him in the jaw which was broken in two places.
Witnesses tried to detain the attacker but he managed to free himself and made off on a 453 bus, police said.
The boy was taken to St Thomas Hospital and received surgery on his jaw. He will require further medical attention, police said.
Police have just released details of the attack which took place at 0800 BST outside Southbank University.
Det Con Barry Vinall said it was a "vicious and unprovoked attack on a schoolboy by a fully grown man".

Police have released an image of the suspect, who is described as a light skinned black man, with a bald head, about 5ft 9ins in height.
