Default china and africa the future - 24-01-08, 02:06 PM

China’s meteoric rise has only been matched by it’s appetite for raw materials. Many in the west say that china has been ignoring if not outright conspirirng with dictatatorial governments to oppress the people within various states In Africa…

This though is no different to western companies and countries that for decades have, if not turned a blind eye to human rights violations, been indirectly complicit and allowing African leaders to hold ill gotten sums in European accounts, or been silent in areas that they can effect .

Talking up the violations of the Chinese favoured Darfur government while not saying anything on the plight of the people from the Niger delta or M.E.N.D. Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Weather or not you’d like to admit it t, many African countries have over the past year gone through a sustained period of economic growth in part thanks to Chinese demand for their goods… perhaps Nigeria nor Kenya lives up to wests’ idea of democracy ( a description shared by china) , but it takes a wealthy middle class first to form the basis of a modern country…and to this end a higher level of corruption may have to be tolerated, while African states are on their way up… thanks to china
