If it's a mortgage you want you have to prove that the money is regular so getting a better paid job is the way forward. As you said you hate it anyway why not consider a career change? How are you with people? Be cabin crew! I know a good few companies recruiting at the moment. Temping is really good as well, most of my friends have found pretty good permanent jobs through agencies.

Reigning in the pennies you have will also be beneficial. Money Saving Expert: Consumer Revenge - Credit Cards, Shopping, Bank Charges, Cheap Flights and more is a good site to check your not overpaying on your bills. There is also a good forum on there with loads of info. Good luck!
