Yes, and my friends and family. I have a "bounce back better" mentality that when I'm faced with obstacles I meet it as a challenge and focus all of my hurt and pain into overcoming it. I'm not very relinquishing of my destiny to another's will or care so "praying/asking for assistance in how to lead my life" has never been a need of mine nor has the idea of putting my life in the hands of someone/something else been particularly appealing. I like to take charge and responsibility of myself and my actions.

I don't know if that is a result of my atheistic beliefs or if I continue to be Atheist because I think the way I do.
