So In the 19th century there weren't ANY black or mixed raced women in England?
Maybe you're making something into a serious concern which isnt supposed to be. Its fictional. Just because you cant get your head around Nancy being black doesnt mean the majority of the public wont be able to, and thats all that counts really-bums on seats.
