Very small plot, most of my crops are grown in containers. This year in containers it will be spinach, tomatoes, runner beans, peppers, carrots, beets, peas, strawberries, onions, pak choi (Chinese greens) and potatoes. I grow everything organically: basically no chemical sprays, so it's a battle with the slugs and birds.
Looks like a great buy, when I started I did not have much cash, so it was a case of using any plastic containers and buying when there was a sale. My friends moan when I go into a garden center bargain hunting, but you should try growing salad leaves very easy.
I promise you, once you taste fresh salad leaves with home grown tomatoes and sliced red onions covered with freshly pick herbs, you will be hooked like me. Great thing about growing in pots less weeding, shortest distance to your plate
I've even started seed off in washed out food containers - eg: large plastic yogurt pot. You just need to make some small holes for drainage.
