Black-pride - it's that old thing about 'When in Rome' and the reality that when the Romans were not in Rome they still done what Romans did. Likewise wherever the Brits/English go or reside they call it home, it's why even when they go on holiday they get upset when the natives can't speak English. Which brings me onto another irony when I popped into a tourist advice shop in Thailand and the person behind the counter couldn't speak English

But for real, English Brits believe the world belongs to them, but then every international hotel I've stayed at has always had the great full English breakfast on the menu so you can hardly blame them for feeling worshiped.

Another thing to illustrate this is the English language itself which is derived from all corners of the world yet it's the number one language that everyone else in the world wants to learn. Ask an Englishman the same question of going back home, he'd look to the world and wouldn't know where to start...and even more ironic is the very last place they would ever consider are the caucus mountains.
