What a wonderful name....I have a beautiful granddaughter with that name...
what you said is true and you have budda, sun yin moon, john smith and many others who came in what they said was God's name. One truth is that if you read a little about them you will find that their are distinctions that set them apart and show that all of them can not be true....
Christianity is a very distinct teaching. As I said when properly applied in your life it becomes a lifestyle and not a religion. that being said, let me address your question...
In the book of John beginning someplace around the 11th or 12th chapter he begins to recognize that His burden is fastly approaching and is starting to make the disciples especially aware that things are about the change dramatically...
In the 16th chapter in verse 23 He says, "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, He will give it you..."
Up to the day He is talking about (crucifixion) He was their provider in person. His personal presence will not be as it was. From that point on when they pray, ask or petition for something, it will no longer be to Him but to the Father in His name.
The reason for this is that His position will change with them. When He came to them 2000 years ago He came as a prophet to Israel. He was a prophet teacher and the Lamb of God.
He came to die for the sins of the whole world. That day was what He came for. After His death He was with them for a little while until they were imbued with power on the 50th day and He then returned to the Abode of the Father where He is now at His right hand interceding for us.
This is His postion now and has been since His Ressurection. He is our (believers) Great High Priest (see Hebrews 4:14 - 16).
If you want to get a glimps of His last postion read Revelation 19:11 - 16)....
You know how I feel about you... - "Portrait"
