Lets state the obvious having watched the two clips of this blatant MURDER by the police.. of this unarmed man already in custody.
Its clear that the POlICE shot him for not complying with their repeated requests and NOT because they were in any real danger, however i suspect that someone somewhere will pull a rabbit out of the hat, and the officer in question will get off a murder charge and get to keep his job...
BUT!!! and i have say this, despite the tragedy....and despite the fact that it may not be fashionable to say this... I really wish people would be THIS outraged about EVERY black death and not just the ones that appears to be racially motivated, [btw i'm talking generally and not about the views expressed on here on this thread]. I wish that everyone would be as brave to whip out their camera phones and identify the person taking that life when yet another black person is killed either here in the USA or the UK by people other than the Police..
As much as I'm outraged and I am about this shooting, I really struggle with the fact that people do not get equally outraged at the far more frequent deaths that occur on a daily basis in some places... Or the fact that people suddenly develop amnesia when people other than the police taken our peoples lives, For me every BLACK life should count and NOT just those taken by racist or corrupt police officers...
I also have to say this, and it could be that i'm in the UK so maybe I've missed a bit of the story.. But i find it strange and quite sad..that the FIRST thing to come from the mouthpiece of the family is the word lawsuit and then the amount wanted.... wtf about justice..if you listen that bit came out almost last on the list of demands... is it me!!?
Someone shoots your family don't you FIRST want that scum arrested, charged, brought to justice, STOPPED..BEFORE you talk about money, civil rights..again I maybe doing the family a disservice and if I am I apologise...but I just found that bit strange..
