May I say that I am a bit apprehensive about this book. I may get it as a reference (if it proves worthy), but let's seriously think about the title (which has turned me off).

"Nigeria's Military Coup Culture (1966-1976)"

If I recall correctly, Nigeria was a colony of the UK up until the early 1960's (if not formally 1960 itself). Does not every country after getting its independence from a colonizer have a "military coup culture" in at least its first few generations?...Eurasia and the Americas being no different? Why is it then pertinent to focus on this natural progression of any civilization with Nigeria?

I haven't read the book, but I am just trying to gauge whether it is propaganda intended to further mire the perspective of Afrika, or if it is actually worth reading.

To be always answering questions and mounting defenses about things you thought were obvious keeps you from doing your work.
