Seriously pointless device.
That said I might get a Kindle though. Bookshelf space getting very crammed

I wish Archos would come out with an improved but slightly larger version of the PMA400. The Kindle won't fit in a pocket. The PMA400 is a Linux computer and you can downlload or cross-compile applications. The JustReader program makes it a book reader. The Kindle only has 2 gig of storage and this has 30 gig. I have 5 gig of music and can play music and while reading. It also records and plays video.
I don't know why they discontinued it unless it is too complicated for too many people. I bought mine off ebay. The man said he bought it for his wife and she used it one day and put it in the closet.
Archos PMA400 Review
Now if it was just a little bit larger and had a fold down keyboard it would not need thos controls on the right side and could have a larger screen. Too much bigger and it wouldn't fit in a pocket. And then a 64 gig SSD and 600 MHz Snapdragon processor. It does pretty good for only 200 MHz.
I just saw one on ebay for $150 starting bid and no one was bidding. He didn't have a real picture so there was no way to tell how beat up it was.
um
