This is one of the few pictures I have of Mo bay...I came across this Crowd watching two grown women having a dance off in the local Craft market....(the woman with the bag on her back and the one next to her in the centre of the picture. Understandably me whipping out a Camera made people slightly nervous...

This shot was taken in the small rural town of Brampton within the Parrish of St Elizabeth, I nearly fell over at the sight of these young boys playing 'tyre'..damn didn't think children still did this..

This the outside of 'Rose Hall' Within the Parrish of St James, This is the plantation house of a former Slave owner.. who it is alleged treated her slaves very very badly indeed.. According to the locals she came to a sticky end and is said to haunt the place..
Unfortunately I arrived one of the flippin few days that this place decided to close early, fortunately the guard allowed the privilage of taking this one shot before I left.. The ground which is huge is now a golf pitch for the very rich and tourists.

LMAO..No Madam Butterfly i'm not a proffessional Photographer, not even semi proffessional.. I just like taking pictures and I bought myself a very good Camera...
Ladyday: I'm especially glad that you liked the pics given your background, I really wanted to show a different side of Jamaica... Btw that shot of the Ackee tree was taken at least 10-15ft away.. I had to use zoom to get that shot of the ripe Ackee... Btw you must tell me which part of yard you hail from..
Ashanti/JazHawk: thanks for the compliment its very much appreciated..

@Kunjufu
The pictures are really beautiful and thanks for showing my own parish what we "residents" refer to as Sent Da Best (people) akaSt Elizabeth......SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!. LOL
K treasure beach is my favourite beach and I still have some pictures drawn by a local rasta on the beach hanging up in my home from 89.....who knows could be the same rasta you pictured.
Once again the picture of the ackee tree captured the true beauty of this national ingrediant for our national dish ackee and saltfish.
Many people used to run down Black River saying its too quite and nothing going on but I love it and my grandfather still goes to his doctor there .....the very first time my mother took me to Jamacia when I was 5 I ate my first restaurant meal from an establishment in black river. The chef was so glad to have us in his restaurant that he took me and my brother along the river and gave us a small history of Jamaica.....that chef was so impressed by our questions that he went out of his way to bring us some school books on Jamacian history that the children used in school.....after all these years I still have those books.
Whitehouse....I remember when I insisted on going with my aunt to whitehouse so she could get her fish to sell in the market......who told me to do that I had to set out at 4am in the morning with her...but I never forget the whole buzz of the new experience......the fishermen had me laughing till my belly was sore.
As for YS fall I hope this place never gets spoilt by too many tourist.
Yes indeed St Elizabeth has many hidden treasures...now did you pass over to the south of St Elizabeth where the dirt is red?
Do you remember the lovely bamboo display that strechted for miles on the way to blackriver bamboo on each side of the road meeting in the middle causing a beautiful archway.....I remember in the early 90's when this beauty was distroyed by fire?
Loved the pictures K.......makes you want to hop on a plane and go back straight away.

Thank you for the pictures!!
I have to say they brought tears to my eyes. My father is from St. Elizabeth and my parents are at this very moment buying the last of the furniture they need in time for the move back home in July. For Good. The pictures reminded me of how much I love that country and never wanted to come back after my last visit and how much I will miss my parents. On the plus side, at least I now have the excuse to visit every year!!

@Kunjufu. Said it before your photograhy is very impressive. No expert but I know what I like and what it conveys to me.
I have one day left in JA before leaving for my part of town, so to speak, and then back to Babylon proper. You have done your country and black people a service with your camera lens. Jamaiaa is a land of so much which is good and inspiring at all levels.
Hard to pick out one photo, but the images of Peter the cabbie and your comments eptiomises Jamacai for me above the bueaty or its natural assetts and resources. The power of many of its people is awe inspiring in terms of their values, outlook cultural groundings.
