Where to move? - 13-01-10, 03:34 PM

I'm thinking of leaving the Uk as i would like to have the experience of living in another country.
My partner and I both work in IT and with our recently born son, we feel ready to try a new experience.

I know a number of places may be great for holidays but not to live.

For example I would like to learn a language and was thinking of moving to Spain but my spanish friend said the country can be quite racist.

Can anyone recommend places they have lived which were enjoyable?

Do you intend to make your move abroad a permanent or temporary one?

Anyway, if you are in the UK, of course it is easier to work in a country belonging to the European Union. I don't think Spain is any more racist than any other European country. Only that the black community there is not as established and strong as say in the UK, France or Holland. Spanish would be a great language to learn though.

That being said, how about a country with a well-established black community? France is just down the road so to speak, and I am assuming you were schooled in the UK and have a very basic knowledge of French. Paris is like London, the south of France is similar in climate to Spain.
