I would very much like to but don't have an extra bedroom.
I do recruit, assess and train those who want to be foster carers or adopters.
There is always a need for foster carers and adopters. Children need families to love and take an interest in their health, education etc. Help them to build their confidence and self esteem so they are resilient and able to achieve to the best of their abilities.

I think it's every able families duty to take a child out of babylons system. I was always wanted at least four children, say 3 with the mother and 1 adopted...but alas, plans got cut short by a money monkey

Who do you work for? What qualifications do you have? My mum fosters and runs her own fostering agency. She needs someone to manage the business on a day to day basis, may need someone to do form F. If you don't wanna talk specifics here send me a pm.

Is it easier to foster as a single parent than it is to adopt?

Shouldn't make a difference. You have to go through a rigorous assessment process, they need to know u have support and a stable home life etc. I think the main difference is with adoption thats geared towards babies and toddlers, whereas with fostering you have more older kids and teenagers. So it depends on the age range you want to take.

To foster or adopt you can:
be single, married or living as a couple
own your own home or rent
have children or not
work, depending on the age and type of children you'll be looking after and as long as you can take time out for appointments etc (as you did/do with your own children).
You must also have people locally to support you - family, friends, neighbours...

Why do people seem to think that anyone would adopt for "fashion"? Fashion is the very LAST reason anyone could or should adopt!! (exdept maybe celebrities who are trying to appease their guilt at the over indulgant lifestyle).

I'm sure your friends can't really be that shallow. Fostering and adoption is very serious, hense the very strict assessment. It's about providing children the opportunity of a good, safe and secure family. Children are NOT fashion accessories bought to match a pair of shoes and then discarded when out of fashion.
