Default Anyone travelled by XL Airways? - 06-03-08, 10:38 PM

We're going to Grenada in April, but I can't get the flights with BA or Virgin for the dates I want.

The only flights available are with XL, but I've heard such horror stories I'm wary.....

Anyone flown with them before, and what's your verdict?

No problem K, but bear in mind I'm staying with Mum & Dad, so can't appraise the hotels. It'll be just me and the boys (Hubby's working) so the flight should be good fun!!!

Thanks BP, glad someone here has travelled with them.

Don't think I'll comment on the trolly dollies though....

NOoooooooooooo!!!

For the love of God and all things holy NOOOOOOOOO

XL is bad bad bad bad bad.

I went to T&T via Greneda with them and it was awful. Worst flight (both ways) in my life, and I say that as a regular flier. Have a look at JBs thread for my reasons as to why it was bad.

Oh dear!

I actually called xl to find out if I could get a deal as I'm travelling alone with two kids, but I can't even buy extra leg room!!

The flights for us 3 in economy will be £775, but if I upgraded to xl one it'll be a whopping £2000!!!!

I've contacted all I can find to fly BA or Virgin, but flights are fully booked (Easter holidays).

Well, I'll have to report my findings when I return!

Hey Sis, still lymin' in Grenada - back Sunday

To anyone unsure about XL - the flight out was excellent. We were delayed for an hour as, apparently 2 signal towers in Southampton were hit by lightning, but we were actually on time because they "took a short cut" (imagine the conversation - "'Ere Jim, can we just cut through this cloud & take a left? That would cut out all those clouds on the right"???), but awaiting the flight back to make my final judgement.

I know I owe you a pm - will do on my return.

To anyone unsure, do fly XL.

They're cheap, you get fed, does exactly what it says on the tin.

Glad I bought some Grenadian weather back with me....
