However you did raise an interesting point about the point of discussions on this forum , it has indeed turned into somewhat of a circus and i myself enjoyed and missed the insightful conversations we partook in , but non-the-less you are doing a fine job with the Forum , continue to maintain Hesaid !

@Karen

LOL maintaining it but he's the one who is the main instigator of turning it into a circus.......go and look at what he done to the lovely story thread we had going to start with blkbrukteet

@Hesaid

Now how you going to just sit there and play all innocent and not show the full picture. Just about every thread got you and Locsgirls whispering sweet nothings to each other and it ain't nothing to do with the topic in discussion.blkdevillol

@Karen and Hesaid (come in sister and brother have a seat and a cup of herbal tea lets have a chat)

On a serious note we do need some good thought provoking subjects and I don't mean the usually mixed race, people, relationship, sex etc. You both refer alot to the old forum I kinda remember when you both appeared just before I left it after noticing the absent of others and level of topics. I think what happened is that although those racist that used to frequent had been around for donkey years we used to just skip there post and walk past it as if nothing was said because believe me they repeated the same filth over and over. Whenever a new poster used to appear and see what they wrote instinctively they would respond but then a older poster used to point out to them that we just ignore them. A lot of us used to ask why admin couldn't monitor and detele their post (thats why this new style is a blessing). Then eveyone started to drift off one by one and believe me most topics were covered fully. I must admitt though many subjects here I do not enter because I know I have gone down that road beforeconfused3, unless someone summons me in at times.

Mafdet sits down I remember the days of Toyin, Bactatya, Voo, Tahliba, Chilli, Fidget, Lady J, Twang, Yush, Ptahbaby, then came the likes of Kareem, Kourtneylove, Markee, Shingetc (if I have missed your name off thats because I know you are already here ok blkthumbsup) and thats just the old forum your referring to, there was one before that and boy where there some racist on there but they were a different calibre these were not the trailer park trash type of Texarse and UK naive et el. but all in all racist all the same. A lot of the old posters (maybe I shouldn't be saying this but I will what the heck) have gone over to a new site and it was blowing up over there. But I have always termed Blacknet as my first home (apart from the others I frequent he heblkssh) I like the vibes here and find some of the others (no names mentioned) to be too dictative by the moderators and it feels like big brother is watching and all up in my bizniz yagetme.blkbrukteet

AnywayI had this same conversation with another poster that you two are now having and we need to realise that our time here is referred in cyber world as getting on so we need to create and get the newies into these types of discussion pass on the knowledge if you know what I mean. That means we have to create interesting topic not wait on others to do so, and on that note I will leave to start one.blktrainers

@Mafdet

Now I have to disagree about whispered sweet nothings. Hesaid and I dont do it for no reason, and come away from the topic in question. Also as I said to Mr Philgreg when he complained about All of us coming off topic....sometimes it needs to. There is surely only so much one can say about a certain subject, then it gets boring and dull. Look at Stylishsista;s topic about not making black men like they used to. How many pages are there to that topic? Its gone round the houses and back again that one. Also I felt it was insulting what Temp User said to Hesaid about that rubbish story. He has no right to suggest he go back to Ask Hesaid topic. He;s got no right to suggest he go anywhere at all. Imagine if instead of being on here, we were all gathered together in the same room. It would be exacctly the same. A conversation would change and flow, like the best ones do.

And I would lean over to Hesaid and whisper sweet nothings and noone would be any the wiser.niceone.gif

@Hesaid

Sweet nothings sweet nothngs sweet nothings sweet nothings.blk2kiss

@Fredblack

Nice one and Thank you for the compliment. I Loved your idea of the little book of hugs. Someone once gave me the same book, and of course I still have it! I;m like you, I got my little box of personal treasures!

I also agree Totally with what you said about women who feel the need to impress one another with what the guy;s spent, car he drives, labels he wears etc etc. This is so true, but we could go back again to that other discussion we once had....women dress more for each other than they do for men. It is generally considered that its men who are the competitive sex, but women are too in different ways. As a society we are becoming So much more materialistic, and women in particular I find. Romance is a subject that is getting spoken about less and less these days. I told a female friend the other day about loving a date on the beach on a warm summer evening. Her reply to me was to watch out my date dont think I;m a cheap easy pushover,cos he hasn;t Had to spend x amount of dollars on an evening out. I thought her attitude was pitiful.

I have a lovely male friend who is a very Romantic soul. He was brought up in great poverty, but did make money later in life. That never changed him though, and he said its because he used to have to really use his imagination and not much cash to woo the woman he wanted at any given time. We been friends a long time and he knows I Adore animals, so one evening he took me on a picnic in the grounds of a large wildlife park. It was Magical. The park was closed to the public at night, but all I could hear were Lions, and Tigers, Gorillas beating theirchests, and the Wolves howling. He even brought along his guitair and played me a few songs. I was in Heaven. If he hadn;t been one of my oldest mates I could have fallen in love on the spot. A top class restaurant could Never have compared to that night.

Yes Fred we know...to be Romantic you gotta have SOUL.
