Sorry guys i know this not going to be popular..but I'm very uncomfortable with the tone and the line of this thread......it is in my opinion anti women in a nasty way... I think all of the above mentioned could equally apply to men too...
I've changed the the title of the thread...but I may also close this thread because I don't think its constructive...

oh cmon now K.....
are you saying its wrong to have markers when picking out a female?
[line]
BP; discussing personal preferences one looks for in a new partner is fair comment, talking about personal dislikes within a relationship is fair comment...However BP the tone of how that is conveyed is IMPORTANT..and i have to say I was very uncomfortable in the way you phrased this question and the emphasis of how the sentiment is conveyed..its just aint right...
However if I'm wrong I'd like to hear women on BNV say they are cool with the tone of this thread..personally i find it slightly disrespectful...thats my PERSONAL view..
You can't complain about the film 'Something new' and its stereotypes and in the next breath do a thread like this it's a contradiction..in my view..

I don't see the anti-women in this topic be honest.... its Black Men Forums, and we are discussing things that put us of women, not saying all women are like that.... or are we not allowed to talk about that anymore?...

Blackthought: yes of course you're right....but you may not realise it but some women..find being refered to as 'chicks' offensive... The stereotype's of women offensive...
Lets flip a person of dual heritage comes here and talks about Blackmen...and their prefences is that ok... They advocate white men is THAT ok...they come and discuss black within a characteur ie dress wearing, gays, in jail, lazy and in low paid jobs....is that ok...I would accept someone coming down and putting down men..
So why is it different if that put down is coming from our own people....how is that different..wrong is wrong is it not?
I don't even know if some black men realise that the way they conveyu their thoughts comes across as just soo..crass...and offensive.. I know its not meant that way but that is the impression it gives to others.. That is why you had certain female posters in 2005 constantly attacking specific male posters... that is why a certain poster (mention no names) attacked BP all the time..
In 2006 we must if nothing else learn to talk with more respect to each other and about each other..and this in my mind does not even come close... But i want to hear from women..they should speak on this...

Kunjufu is such a Gentleman and thats so cool....but personally as one of the female brigade I dont find anything so far to be offensive.
I would say a dislike of smoking, swearing, hating exes and such applies to both sexes. Nothing so far makes me believe he;s down on women.
Some of the discussions on the womans forum have been much worse! smoking-devil

@KunjuFu
I see where you are coming from and I understand what you are saying... but if its about impression, then you will not be able to please everybody, becuase ppl will always mis-interpret what you/I/anyone says, regardless of how its said... however I feel its up to the individual to explain themselve if they are been asked to justify what they said....
As thesituation of the certain individual, its clear to me that they are deluded, becuase the amount of time every male member been attacked explained themselve on their stance, it was still the same thing "you hate black women"...

the topic is fine by me, its only fair for one to have preferences etc.
but i take offence to being referred to as "boppa" wat does that mean anyway? everyday a new word to describe women is created, "boppa, gash, ting, b word, c word, chick, etc".
what ever happened to woman, girl, lady, etc.
i'm over analysing maybe but that's how i feel.
carry on fellas, just dont let the tone slip pretty please!
