Has Naomi Campbell ever impregnated a man and left him hanging with the child? Lol!! No, she couldn't even do that if she wanted to. Has she gone and had any children with these men? No. So what exactly is the problem here? That she does not want to settle down in a relationship? She hasn't hurt herself or anyone for these actions and therefore if she wants to date a different man every week, then that's just fine by me. What you need to be doing is talking to those women with 5 children from 5 different men.

Id like to see you condone that behaviour within any daughter of yours. I definately wont with mine. So a woman can keep her reputation intact as long as she doesnt have children . Well on that basis we shouldnt chastise prostitutes as they dont hurt anyone by their actions?

And Naomi Campbell is a gifted model, one of the best there ever was. I'm not going to admit to anything I don't agree with. Yes, I know of plenty of black people who say he's their favourtie celebrity. Especially older folk who were around during the height of his career.

And no I don't see black celebrities being judged by what they do and say outside of it. In fact these days you can't criticize a black celebrity without someone calling you a hater and complainin about why black folks can never support each other, blah, blah, blah.

So people do not judge Kobe Bryant/ the guy who killed his white wife/ his name escapes me.. Frank Bruno/ Michael Jackson / the list goes on. Why these people get critisize?. Because of what they done PRIMARILY to get famous?
|
Quote:
You don't know her actions save for what you read in the media, and we all know how the medialoves totear celebrities apart,so how can you sit in judgement of her?
|
Quote:

I don't view Naomi Campbell as weak or ashaving no morals. She's made a lot of mistakes just like everybody else so why should I judge her when far more people have done worst things. She's notMother Theresaand has never tried to be one. But I do like how she admitted to having that drug problem and seeking help for it on her own. It takes a lot of strength to admit to your mistakes especially when you're in the public eye, but she did it and that shows strength and courage which I'm sure even you can admire. And as for Muhammed Ali, that man was a serial womanizer and left many a wife for current mistresses yet you admit to being a fan of his and still stand in judgement of Naomi for dating a man every week.

Muhammed Ali done alot for black people and displayed unique principle in 1960s aparteidAmerica/ in spite of his career as the best boxer on Mother Earth/ in spite of his womanising. In spite of the very real therat to his lfe. How many others can say the same?

Simple answer. Yes. What else on a black women defines a Eurocentric look. Its definately not her juicy broadlips. How about the green contacts she has in the picture. Does that count?
|
Quote:
|
Well if that's all that it takes to be Eurocentric then you mustrebuke at least 99.9% of black female celebrities. And you should also be complaining about Gladys Knight, Lark Voorhies, Tina Turner and other women who have been posted on this thread as well. Hell, in that picture I posted of Tina Turner, my lady had on a blond wig but you didn't harp on her for that, now did you?
|
Quote:
|
Well if I harped on about every black female celebrity who promotes a Eurocentrioc look I wouldnt have time to sleep. For the record Little Kim/ beyonce and all them other white women look alikes do not garner my respect. Is that clear now.
|
Quote:
|
No, only Naomi Campbell gets flak for doing something that even the average black woman continues to do.
|
Quote:

The average black women gets hooked on coke/ has a different man every month/ wears green contacts/ Lord God / its got that bad?
|

Well if you didn't know, in the 80's when black women worldwide were starved of seeing women who actually resembled themselves in the media, Naomi came by and took the world by storm. She broke plenty of barriers for a lot of black women in the modeling business. She'sone ofthe most recognizable models in the world andargueably the most well known black model. Even in my little town in Ghana, the women knew who Naomi was and they appreciated her foraffirming their belief that they were just as lovely as the next race woman.
|
Quote:

Well it shoulnt take the white modelling world's affirmation and sanction that a African women can be beautiful and as lovely as the next women. That very staement is a poor indictment on African womens self esteem itself.Bbut I take on board your point. Its most unfortunate that that is a reality. But ist nothing to be proud of.

No wouldn't condone that sort of behaviour in my daughter or my son, for that matter. But I don't see how she should be called a ho by people who don't even know the true nature of these relationships. How do you know that she sleeps with every single one of these men?

There were plenty of black people who have and continue to support Kobe Bryant and OJ Simpson. Hell with OJ even though he divorced his black wife, completely divorced himself of the black community and only associated with whites, an overwhelming amount of black people still supported him. Was it not a jury full of black women who let him off the hook? Where is the judgement in that?
|

And as for Michael Jackson, that man is not black anymore and he's an extreme case here. Even white people are uncomfortable with him and he's basically one of them, child molestation and all.

Fair enough, I agree with you. It still doesn't take away from the womanizing though and is why I keep saying that celebrities are people just like everyone else and not saints.

Yes that is clear. But the problem is that so many other black men do hold black women by those standards and is why you find these women running around trying to look like white women. When the black male standards of female beauty changes, you will not even need to tell most of us to stop trying to look like her. Some of us will be more than happy to stop abusing horses.

No but some of them do. But what I meant is that the average black woman straightens her hair and or wears weaves. Many of us even see that as more natural than wearing ourGod-given hair sowhy should you expect Naomi Campbell to be different?

I agree that it's nothing to be proud of, but it's the way of the world andI cannot faultblack womenfor taking advantage ofwhatever little affirmation they get inthis society.

Well, I like Ms. Rashad. I love Gladys Knight, Jill Scott, Pam Grier, and Queen Latifah. There are a few others in that list also.
But for me, the top. . .the one "Black" woman who embodies, pride, tranquility, beauty of soul, body, and spirit is the one and only. . .
Angela Bassett.
She's off the scale.

Have to be Alicia Keys for me, She's so perdy, can sing, write poetry, went to Columbia at 16, thick, just downright wife material IMHO. Of course I don't know her, but I think I would like her if I met her,
