I'm not sure what the medical term for it is, but there is something at the back of the heads of a minority of African men. I've heard it referred to as a fold, and less flateringly a six pack in the head
I was just wondering if anyone knew what caused it and why it seemsfrom my visual research) to be something found exclusive onafrican men
Mine is kind of bugging me and have thought about having it removed years ago but I dont scar well so I've nipped that in the bud
Any replies will be apprecaited

I take it you are talking about keliods/Psoriasis or even shaving bumps?
There are two schools of thoughts about what causes it.
(1) "Ingrowth hair" as our hair (specifically black peeps) tend to grow in a curly manner. Shaved or cut hairs sometimes curl inward giving rise to these raise bumps which if left untendered can morp into giant bumps!
(2) Immune system simply reacting and causing this type of reaction i.e bumps, dry scally scalp etc.
If that is what you are referring to then indeed it is a tough one to take care of. I used to lock my hair for years but couldn't anywmore as my scalp began to itch anyway had to shave it all off and till date continue to shave religiously to keep this bumps/rash from spreading.
I have been using Teatree oil and Capasal (shampoo) this has really kept things at bay for over 10yrs now it acts as a sort of antifungal / antibacterial disinfectant.
I have tried tablets and all sorts of medical cream/soap to no avail.Damn.
I believe the medical term is : "Folliculitis Decalvans Capillitii" or "Dissecting Cellulitis" whichever the case may be in regards to the affliction
If anyone knows a good cure i'll be glad to try it out.

Most Black men dont have a problem with that but for the ones that do then maybe they just shouldnt shave their heads bald.

Yes, I think going bald may be the cause of a lot of this problem. It usually seems to occur with bald-headed men. I've seen it on Hispanic mentoo and each time, they have been bald.

But what I am talking about is not razor bumps. The layer of fat is inside the head and when you poke it is hard.

Yeah I've seen men with them before and I always thought it was an infection from shaving bumps. The ones I've seen look real nasty and I think someone told me they can't get them removed because they will bleed to death.

I've noticed that too. Some brothers have a scruff on the backs of their necks, kind of like puppies do. You can't see it if they have hair, but if they shave it all off it looks like a pack of hotdogs. I think it's just extra flesh, kind of like people who have chubby cheeks.

Hahahaha when you poke it, its hard, a friend of mine has the same but when you poke his its soft. He tends to have over grown meat at the back of his head.

I think you might need to go and see a professional about this one. If it's not razer bumps, then I don't know what that could possibly be. Have you always had this bump?

weird deposit of fat....is my best guess.....
we call that 6 pack of hotdogs.......sure sign of older age and weight gain......
think it be be race related....or more likely to occur in black men...same way that vericose veins seem to be more assoicated with white women....

I've seen 2 different things on the back of the head. The big nasty keloid looking thing from razor bumps orthe hotdogs on the head that some dudes especially big dudes have thats really just rolls of fat and not from razors.
