I'm not doing it but I don't know what to do with it...
Its geting close to stage where I can't get a comb through it and I have to bow down to its nattyness and rebellious comb breaking. Growing a fro is out of the question for me I think.
Thing is what can I do with it?
I was even checking out the womens hair section in the newsagents today looking for articles about what us men can do with our hair, all the while trying not to sound girly.
*Cups balls, just in case*
Can't canerow, it dosen't suit me... too girly and neat. *Reinstates manhood* Might go for the spikey look but thats hassle.
Any help?
Was thinking about posting this in the womens forum. Guess they'd know more about this stuff.

You could check out Nappturality.com for advice [yes men post too]
I have lox and haven't dealt with natural loose hair for many years, so can't help so much with styles, but the advice I've gleaned include:
*Comb hair when damp/wet [much easier]
*Comb out ends first and work towards roots rather than the other way round!
*Chuck away the tortuous little itty bitty tooth combs [man, I remember back in the day feeling so sorry for my brother - for some reason it was a boy's comb confused3] Use a WIDE tooth comb!!!
*If you got a woman, get her to plait up your hair at night [dunno how long it is] and comb or pick out it out in the morning [if that's not too girly for ya] - and less knots to deal with...
hope some of this helps!

Brother, what's a gel twist? I am guessing that it is not the same as the twists with the wax, is it?

^ Thats what I used to have.
So with this gel twist can you just twist it yourself kind of thing?
How does it, ''work''?

I'll log onto their site and check them out. Even been thinking about keeping it at a certain height or something.
Can't be combing it out in the morning and all that, thats just way too much for me to be bothered with. Have to clean it daily can't really do that with canerow.

I agree- twist it but don't braid it. Braids are for women. (Don't every braided up brother jump on me at once, please...ew)
Or you can just wear it nappy. Just let it go. After a while, it will sort itself into some sort of style all on its own. But if you get someone to twist it for you at least once a week at night, it will look really cool. Let us know how it turns out.

Can twists be done on your own?
I mean, can I get a lump of gel wake up and get to twisting? They'd have to come out so I can wash my hair everynight.

^Yes, you can do twists on your own. It might take longer and won't be as perfect as when someone else does it for you,but it can be done. Women do it all the time.

I'll try it.
Might even think about dreads. Not sure how they'd suit me though, natty is more my style might go for that if I can keep it going for that long.

What type of comb are you using?confused3
What is the size of your comb?confused3
What is your comb made from?confused3
How are you combing your hair?confused3
What oils/moisturisers/conditioners are you using in your hair?confused3
What is nattyness? And why do use that term to describe your hair?confused3

I know you were addressing RL on this, but do you find the steel picks break hair more than the plastic. Right now, I use one of those steel afro picks with the black fist on the end.

Nope.. you will only mess up ur head full of gel.. besides after u twist it you will need to go under the hair dryer (the full one) for about 45 mins or so, to get the gel hardened..
My advice it to go to someone that knows how to do it, then maybe after a while u can try it urself.
Problem is you can't wash ur hair unless u want to remove it all.
