The entire world gravitates towards the more "european look"...so your bullshyt about black men is just that...bullshyt.

Yes the entire world gravitates more towards european beauty you see it everywhere be it asian, hispanic whatever. However we as a race are worse than any other when it comes to idolising europeans. Firstly in terms of the way we look hair, skin face features body shape we are the total opposite to europeans. Even though as black women our features are only socially acceptable when they are on non black women ie, jlos backside, angelina jolies lips, as a whole our beauty is not represented or appreciated by the rest of the world because we do not look like them, which is why the only black women who get their foot in the door are the ones who look less african and more european, ed, beyonce, alicia keys, hale berry. All are talented but if they were a few shades darker they would never have reached the level of worldwide success that they have. So thats the white media, look at the black media again majority of women considered attractive tend to look more european, hair, facial features, skin complexion. Then look at society and maybe only darkskinned black women see this because we are the ones who are constantly overlooked for the more european looking black girl/lightskinned girl. I have experienced it myself and seen it too many times to even count. No matter how pretty the darker girl is 9 times out of 10 she will be overlooked if she is standing next to a girl with a lighter complexion who is not as attractive. So the problem exists and the sooner we deal with it the better. So I say to you open your eyes, pay attention to what is going on around you and maybe you will see what we as black women see everyday!

I think that is complete and utter BS.

What U have said is true to an extent...however, black people, women especially need to get out of there heads that not all black men love and prefer LIGHT SKINNED women. I think it is a myth...

People are bound to find other races attractive. I know for a fact that nuff guys find Lucy Lu beautiful and she is Chinese, at the same time as lusting over Kenya Moore and we all know the colour of her complexion..., just because some black men have a preference for light women, we should not come on here and argue that black men are brainwashed, when not all of them are...hehe

You need go to a country which has a 'coloured' majority and chill. When you do, you will know what real black men like...

Everyday I see black couples, mixed raced couples, white couples etc...people make too much of an issue of this and need to stop, because at the end of the day black men do Love black women in all our colours, however it doesn’t mean that they are exclusive to black women...as we are not exclusive to them.

Also a women who has a weave in her head is neither here nor there in this contemporary age as it is not just black women, who sport them. The list of millions of women across the world is just too long to go in to.

The media is changing, not as fast as we would like but it is changing. You can see this change in America more than in England, this brings us to the issue of acceptance. You don't have to accept what you don't believe is representative of you nor do you have to let it effect yr life, whereby you use the old light vs dark argument. Am sure you are good looking, so why feel that black men don't like you because you are dark? That is so stupid and dangerous to think that.

Am sick to death of hearing it. This type of ideology is now in the minds of mixed race (white parent and black parent) women who feel that black men don't like them no more because of Indian, Greek and Pakistani girls I mean WTF lol...If someone is attractive then they are attractive end of.

LETS not use celebrities as examples because, they are representative of an illusion.

I also happen to think that some Black women are very insecure. I actually find your words quite inspirational, some or many black women are very insecure about the desires of many black men towards non black women in the Western world, and quite rightly, to be fair in the UK espeacially and of course the US black men appear to be taking the bloody piss out of us for all the world to see.

It is hard to judge each man individually, when a woman may have been let down time and time again, but it is the only way forward, bitterness and hate is a waste of time

@Le Moor. Nobody here takes you serious this days. So have the last word regarding this non issue and knock yourself out if this will bring some occasional happiness into your life. You once did admit to finding yourself enjoying this type of behaviours you exhibit. You see what you want to see and arguing with you is just an exercise in futility, like watching paint dry on an object. You will argue on and on over nothing in particular, maybe this is indicative of somepersonnal problems going on in your life, who knows. Again good luck buddy.

@Wifeable. You are right, things are hard out there especially with relationships. One has to be aware of the company we keep and try to associate ourselves with positive people to improve the chances of meeting the right person and also for inspiration.

You are right though, this is a particular non-issue. Soperhaps i should save the arguement for an issue worth argeuing over, where no doubt you will be offerring your cheesytones as per usual.
