You have issues over there but we all know the Black love is way much stronger than over here and the gals were ever so friendly maybe it was the famous southern hospitality.

Houston is definitely a hot spot in the South. Southern hospitality indeed. Southern women,(Southern people for that matter) are different in some ways than Northern women, especially when it comes to men and relationships,socialbility, friendliness,etc.. They go all out,lol. THe flip side of that though is if you do em wrong or play em close in a relationship, they'll cut/shoot you............ I'm a cross between a Southern and Northern woman, so it's a mixed bag with me,lol. BTW, Frankie Beverly and Maze wrote a song dedicated to the charm of Southern Black women called 'Southern Girls'.

Your observations were true apart from the fact that folks with direct lineage to Africa would overwhelmingly marry someone of African lineage .

This is what I would have thought too, but my experience tells me otherwise. (of course I'm just going by the Continental Africans here in America), Some Continentals seem to be all big on marrying another Continental, unless there is a white person in the mix. In other words, a lot of them seem to have less of a problem with that, than they do with marrying a non Continental African Black person. I guess it depends on which country they are from. Some African countries seem to produce that mindset more than others.....

I'm also a fan of @Fred Blacks writing .....i was really surprised maybe he was pissed off with someone or a typo..user error lol!!

I remember making a thread a few months ago about some white woman who wrote to an African newspaper and said some nonsense about if it wasn't for her kind, the 'black' movement in the UK wouldn't have made any progress, and I know for a fact that some brothas, myself included, wrote to the paper counteracting her bullshit but our letters/e-mails were never printed which is a shame because the editor is an African male, but there you go....
