LOCK & KEY PARTY

LOCATION: The Evangelist Bar, 33 Blackfriars Lane, London EC4V 6EP
FOR: Black singles
FOR AGES: 23-39
ON: Monday 11 February 2008
STARTING AT: 7:30pm
ENTRY: £19.50

SPECIAL REQUEST FOR THE FELLAS: Don't be shy - this party's for you too!

‘Muruako Events’ specialise in low-key, intimate gatherings, for black singles. We provide relaxing surroundings, at which you can meet, socialise and make connections, with other like-minded people. Even if you don’t find ‘the one’, you will certainly make new friends.

For this event, we have invited educated, professional and personable black singles (from having looked at the profiles of many black people, from various websites).

Guests will be greeted upon arrival with a complimentary glass of wine, and snacks are provided throughout the event. The event will be opened with live performances - a couple by Komo, an award-winning artist at the Nigerian Music Video Awards and best afro hip-hop nominee There will also be a short quiz at the end, where you can win prizes!

If you are interested in coming to this event call Marilyn 07723 381706, and we will place you on the guestlist.

Come with a group or come by yourself - you will certainly not feel lonely!

HOW DOES A LOCK & KEY PARTY WORK?

Ladies are issued with a padlock and gentlemen are issued with a key. The idea is to match a key to a padlock.

The Lock & Key concept is a fantastic ice-breaker, as it provides you with a perfect excuse to approach that interesting man or lady, who you have been admiring from afar! Once you get the 'lock and key' bit out the way, you can choose whether to stay for a chat or move on. IF YOU MAKE A MATCH, YOU ARE ENTERED INTO A PRIZE DRAW, WHICH IS CONDUCTED AT THE END OF THE EVENING! However, you will also be issued with another lock or key, and the fun starts all over again!

To be honest, I'm surprise that an event like this can be held while having enough young blacks who are still interested in their own ethnic group. With the amount of single white women, and men trying to have a sexual relationship or ''test the waters'' with someone black. Since some clearly have nothing to do with love, but more to do with entertainment for whites and black self hatred. Hopefully white dominated british society will get their wish of seeing so many mixed race experiments that they get bored. Maybe then they'll not need to treat blacks like shit and a Circus show.

WOAH! I wasn't expecting such a serious response, and I wonder whether Blackchat has misconstrued the objective or motivation for this event. He/she has certainly read too much into it, and has gone off on a tangent! The dating game is hit and miss and this event merely aims to bring good calibre black singletons under one roof to meet, socialise and build connections.

Surely it does not automatically mean that just because there are still enough young blacks interested in their ethnic group, positive outcomes will not be yielded from such an event!

(Does anyone know Blackchat? Was BlackChat being sarcastic or provocative?)
