AFRIKOKOA brings the positive and energetic and soulful vibes with its next live session at theBig Chill House, 257-259 Pentonville Road, King’s Cross, London, N1 9NL on SUNDAY 15th June 2008, Kings Cross Northern Line and Thames Link, Next door to Thames link and Scala.

We have the honour and pleasure to featuring Nathan 'Flutebox' Lee at this session. West London’s best kept secret performs with his trademark live FLUTEBOXING where he beatboxes and plays the flute at the same time - making Hip Hop, Drum ‘n bass and Ragga beats with his mouth while playing Indian classical, Jazz and Funk melodies on the flute.
He has recently collaborated with THE PRODIGY, ED RUSH & OPTICAL, FOREIGN BEGGARS and RICKY RANKING (Roots Manuva) and is currently in the studio with self-styled Urban Blues outfit MATTAFIX.

We also will be featuring the evocative soulful mellow vibes of singer/songwriter Sylvia Powell. This year she independently recorded her sophomore album, 'The Script'. The album is a realisation of our ability to re-write our destinies. Universal themes are rendered personal as Sylvia reveals a more organic and refreshed sound. Her sultry vocal rasp shows a lyrical maturity and unfurls a tale of conversational existentialism, musing against a modern acoustica backdrop.
Resident DJs AJ Kwame (Runaways) and Baggy will to explore the universal sounds of new and old Afro-musical fusions from African Hip-Hop, Afrobeat to Afro-soul to Hip-Life, Afro-Eurasian grooves to Afro-house, Broken Beat to Dubstep and Bashment and Beat Poetry.

Artistic works will be provided by Erin Sorenson.
