I think its rare that one person can accurately speak for a whole group.

There are equal/fair circumstances in oppressive societies, and gender inequalities in 'progressive' societies.

In my opinion I'd say in many developing countries women do have significantly much more of a challenge than men when it comes to equality and resources to contribute to their progress as individuals and collective.

But speaking from experience and observation i'd say in Western society(mainly North America) it's men(especially) black men who are at a loss for equality and resources for development and progression. Looking at statisicts women fair(sp?) better than men academically and professionally. Its become a kind of quiet crisis in America

Sorry if I offend anyone but I feel there are too many women spoiling and babying their sons to the point where they remain in perpetual childhood. This is severely handicaping the males from being able to stand on t heir own 2 feet, much less support a family.

Furthermore this society doesn't provide any kind of resources from men who are dealing with any kind of physical, financial, emotional challenges in life. It is assumed that men should be able to make it without these resources, which come easier to females. For example.. In these rough economic times there are plenty of single fathers who have become homeless(as well as the children) because there is no safety net for males, only females. Its grown into a large issue, but no one is doing anything addressing it. In one of the several studies and documentaries I saw there was a skilled tradesman who lived out of a car with his daughter. He could get no assistance for him or her because he was a man.

I even posted an article in this same forum regarding sexual harrassment of males by females. In many instances in North America the pendulum has swung a bit too far when it comes to gender equality issues.

Just my 2 cents
