Sorry guys but why waste so much time debating what is a load of rubbish!!!

I fail to see whom she is representing. Feminism or herself??

Her analogy for the plight of black people and black women in particular and her views on the bible just illistrates how much more she needs to go back and research her whole outlook on life.

It was white male bigots that constructed the bible and therefore how can one accept it as factual in the first place.

Dan Brown's book the Da Vinci code revealed alot more about Jesus and the role of women than I expected and has opened up my mind to theories regarding the role of women in society.

Anything that challenges the status quo of white male supremacy is a threat so it is easy for me to believe that the bible may have been altered to protect their own ideologies.

I don't even believe in the trinity so I again do not accept her givijesus as the same as god.

I think its rare that one person can accurately speak for a whole group.

There are equal/fair circumstances in oppressive societies, and gender inequalities in 'progressive' societies.

In my opinion I'd say in many developing countries women do have significantly much more of a challenge than men when it comes to equality and resources to contribute to their progress as individuals and collective.

But speaking from experience and observation i'd say in Western society(mainly North America) it's men(especially) black men who are at a loss for equality and resources for development and progression. Looking at statisicts women fair(sp?) better than men academically and professionally. Its become a kind of quiet crisis in America

Kind of a tangeant and, but it adds to my point about men having limited support and resources in the west(north america)
Sorry if I offend anyone but I feel there are too many women spoiling and babying their sons to the point where they remain in perpetual childhood. This is severely handicaping the males from being able to stand on t heir own 2 feet, much less support a family.

Furthermore this society doesn't provide any kind of resources from men who are dealing with any kind of physical, financial, emotional challenges in life. It is assumed that men should be able to make it without these resources, which come easier to females. For example.. In these rough economic times there are plenty of single fathers who have become homeless(as well as the children) because there is no safety net for males, only females. Its grown into a large issue, but no one is doing anything addressing it. In one of the several studies and documentaries I saw there was a skilled tradesman who lived out of a car with his daughter. He could get no assistance for him or her because he was a man.

I even posted an article in this same forum regarding sexual harrassment of males by females. In many instances in North America the pendulum has swung a bit too far when it comes to gender equality issues.

Just my 2 cents
I agree that the pendulum has swung too far with regards to divorces and separations at the expense of the children. Shemsi en Tehuti summed it up best :that black men and women have to work together in order to get ahead on the chess board of life.
