When she's done apologizing to black men, she needs to offer up an apology to black women for that drivel she just spewed on our behalf.

I don't entertain such silliness when it comes to classical Afrikan people as this huge dissolutive heap of "ethnic groups". If you listen to the Western-trained archaeologists and anthropologists, they will tell you there is upwards of 800 different "ethnic groups" and "languages" in Afrika. One could easily do the same to us here in America with our own particular customs from Alabama to the Carolinas, as it is different from Philly and NYC, compared to central cities like Cleveland, Chicago, and Detroit. Then there's the West coast like L.A. and San Diego, or the traits peculiar to people in Florida or Texas even.

Albeit he was a Muslim, but I'd suggest listening to one of our late great minds on the matter...
The difference in the intellectual approach of the African and European researcher often causes these misunderstandings in the interpretation of facts and their relative importance. The scientific interest of the European scholar with regard to African data is essentially analytical. Seeing things from the outside, often reluctant to synthesize, the European clings basically to explosive, more or less biased microanalysis of the facts and constantly postpones ad infinitum the state of synthesis. The African scholar distrusts this "scientific" activity, the aim of which seems to be the fragmentation of the collective historical African consciousness into minute facts and details.

If the African anthropologist made a point of examining European races "under the magnifying glass," he would be able to multiply them ad infinitum by grouping physiognomies into races and sub-races as artificially as his European counterpart does with regard to Africa. He would, in turn, succeed in dissolving collective European reality into a fog of insignificant facts. pg. 275

Exactly what part is drivel, besides the end motivated by her Black Hebrew Israelite convictions?

Firstly, it is clear this woman is apologising for something she has done. Putting it on You Tube is all about her ego. Instead of subjecting everyone to her rantings she should become part of the solution..

What do black women not realise? How unfair society is: the legacy of slavery.

With our consideration of a goal to destroy the black race post-slavery, I do not think either the black man or the black woman fully understood the true nature of the forces working against them. Some black women tended to accept the capitalist evaluation of manhood and womanhood and believed the implication that black men were shiftless and lazy. If this was their situation they should have found a job to support their families.

As a child growing up I knew some black men found it impossible to find work of any kind and likewise, the black woman was manipulated by the system, economically exploited as a worker and physically assaulted because she was black. Black women could often find work in the white man's house or be used as a source of cheap labour to cut cane, thus becoming the sole breadwinner of the family. It is fair to say that this predicament has led to many problems and has contributed to the turmoil that we find in the black family structure.

In order to crush the revolutionary spirit of the black race it was absolutely essential to create an image that suggested that Africans - by the very nature of their bodily existence - were sexual savages with debased morals and animalistic urges, who were therefore deserving of slavery and colonization. African women, in particular, were viewed as deserving to be raped and to be bred to support the slave labour economy.

Some black men of low self-esteem are maintaining that they have been castrated by white society AND that black women even contributed to this emasculation. According to this theory, the institution of slavery led to a breakdown in the black family and the development of a so called matriarchy, in which the black woman was "dominant." This "matriarchal" structure was held responsible, in turn, for contributing to the "emasculation" of the black man.

By reducing the black man to such abject oppression, the black woman had no protector and was made use of. The black woman was needed and valued by the white female as a domestic, because she allowed the white woman to have free time from her motherhood and housewife responsibilities and could escape her domestic prison overseered by the white male and is still being used, in some cases, as the scapegoat for the evils that this horrendous system has perpetrated on black men. Her physical image has been maliciously maligned; she has been sexually molested and abused by the white man; she has suffered the worst kind of economic exploitation, used to undermine her own household, and has been powerless to reverse this.

As for the crux of her "apology", she is dead on that under this system of White Supremacy, the Afrikan woman sought to be one with the European woman in society; thereby equating the Euro woman's struggle with her own. She looked to her own Afrikan men as if he was the problem, when in actuality the only person oppressing all women has always been the European/White man. This maladapted psychology by our people (amongst others in religion and so forth) has rippled throughout our community with a wide array of dysfunctions encompassing and enveloping what the sister apologizes for in the video.

It is fallacious reasoning that in order for the black man to be strong, the black woman has to be weak. The black woman has been made to feel ashamed of her inner strength and so to redeem herself she has adopted from whites the belief that the superiority and dominance of the male is the most "natural" and "normal" relationship.

As long as the potential of the black woman is seen mainly as a supportive role for the black man, then her potential deteriorates and she cannot begin to think in terms of self-determination for herself and all black people. It is not right that her existence should be validated only by the existence of the black man.

Some black women feel that they must take the nod from "their black man" because if they "act up" then they might lose him to a white woman. They must still subordinate themselves and suppress their own feelings and desires. It is not hard to see even today that some black men consequently believe that black women ought to be suppressed in order to attain that "natural balance": old traditional patterns of male dominance and female servility.

However, when our communities were allowed to flourish by themselves (sometimes even with Christian influence) the prominence of women speaks for itself through illustrious (not always great) women like Sojourner Truth, Zora Neale Hurston, C.J. Walker, Mary McLeod, and even Harriet Tubman under slavery. There are several other women who could be named in vain here, but the point of the matter is that our women were never ideally oppressed by Afrikan men in the American experience, but by the European man.
It is true that black men have been emasculated, lynched and brutalized, cruelly exploited and subjected to all sorts of dehumanising tactics by white society. However, in the past black women have been told by their black men that they were black, ugly, evil bitches and whores -- in other words, we were the 'real ******s' in white society -- oppressed by whites, male and female, AND the black man, too. Having too many babies stops black women from being able to support their children correctly, from teaching them the truth and stopping their brainwashing, when also having to fight their black man who still wants to use and exploit the woman sexually, or for money and leave the babies with them, to be brought up alone.

These days, the black women has been forced, due to historical conditions, to educate and support herself if she wants a better life for the future generation. In this very process of gaining the insights that black children must have pride in their history, in their heritage, in their beauty and not be brainwashed as our ancestors were, black woman has awakened. 'Black male authority' and exploitation have seriously weakened now and those who continue to exert their "manhood" by telling black women to step back into a culturally domestic, submissive role know that fewer women will actually do this.

Perhaps this is why this woman on You Tube thinks the black man needs her apology.

This line of reasoning completely negates the contributions that have been made, historically, by black women. Since slavery, black women have endured a great deal in the cause of a better future. This speaks volumes about their inner strength. I understand why some black men need to feel that their women respect them, as head of the household and trust in their ability to be providers and protectors. By giving black men a false feeling of superiority (at least in their own home or in their relationships with black women), the oppression of black women acts as a release valve for the capitalism system as this example from You Tube shows. Working from the template of typical stereotypes for male and female roles is a form of bondage and an integral part of the racist and capitalist system. Black women and black men must oppose and work to overthrow this. It is clear to me that this is a type of slavery that will not advance us as a black race.

Unless we realise how thoroughly white values of male superiority and female inferiority have permeated our relationships with each other, we can never appreciate the role they play in perpetuating racism and keeping black people divided. In other words 'ego attachments' to particular activities or traits as a method of determining black male and female roles must be set aside.

Another woman said it best, although I can bring to mind her name...

The flexibility of a people in effecting role alternation and role integration has been an historically proven asset to the survival of many people, by advocating the complementary recognition of man and woman, not the competitive recognition of same. It also encourages a broader mental and emotional growth in black women and men as they share the responsibility of working towards liberation of the black race from the dynamics of the capitalist system. Neither black man or woman should be relegated to a narrow experience in life. Neither of them should have their potentiality for independent thinking controlled and predetermined by the opposite sex.

You are right...it is fallacious reasoning, but you are arguing against something I have never stated. Afrikan women have never needed validation from the Afrikan man. If you are cognizant of Afrikan history, if anything, the Afrikan man was typically validated by the woman. A man couldn't even be chief or king unless he married the right woman of nobility. Which is why in ancient Egypt the mother of all aspects of God and the theological mother of man was Auset. Her name literally means "the seat of legitimacy". This means that even though Ausar was king, he was made legitimate through the righteousness of the woman. This cultural aspect permeates all throughout Afrika where even the Queen's mother could exercise authority over the present king and queen of an empire. The only time this dynamic broke down was when those cultures were infiltrated by foreign ideologies (i.e. Christianity, Islam, Hebrewism, etc.).

Now that we are in the Diaspora, both our men and women are simply confused and taking their frustrations out on each other. Fact of the matter is the Afrikan man and woman need each other. The more you entertain alternative thoughts you are converging towards "racial" suicide.

...blame, blame, blame...please, just get over yourself and your ego. Although written by a European, I do suggest reading the work of Eckhart Tolle in his two books The Power of Now and the most recent A New Earth. The Afrikan man in the Diaspora could just as easily recall the things said and done by our sisters under the grotesque influence of a White Supremacist society. The problem with too many people is they seek to be understood, before they actually understand. You apparently are no different casting blame yet again instead of understanding that both sides were acting outside of themselves given the circumstances.

Lastly, your fixation on alienation of the sexes is a direct result of your conditioning under this White Supremacist culture. You can't be a woman if not for the very essence of a man. You will do nothing but worsen the relations between the Afrikan man and woman, because yet and still, you fail to understand.
