“The problem that Europeans and European Americans have accepting the historical reality that Africans living in the Nile Valley 6000 years ago created one of the most admired civilizations in history is theirs alone to grapple with. The destiny of African Americans will no longer be determined by the descendants of their former owners.
During our first 200 years in America we were forced to fight for our human rights. In the Twentieth Century we fought against the law of the land to attain our civil rights. Now, in the Twenty First Century, we are fighting for the right to determine our own consciousness. In the end, we shall be victorious.”
“The African Centered Movement has one primary objective: to rescue and reconstruct the history, culture, science, philosophy, psychology, religion, literature and economics of African people (worldwide), and to view our experiences through our own eyes. But we must be fully aware that such acts of self-determination will be met with resistance by those who profit from the perpetuation of historical falsehoods masquerading as academic truths.”
Anthony T. Browder.

“Men were not created in order to obey laws. Laws are created to obey men. They are established by men and should serve men. The laws and rules which officials inflict upon poor people prevent them from functioning harmoniously in society. There is no disagreement about this function of law in any circle the disagreement arises from the question of which men laws are to serve. Such lawmakers ignore the fact that it is the duty of the poor and unrepresented to construct rules and laws that serve their interests better. Rewriting unjust laws is a basic human right and fundamental obligation.”
Huey P. Newton

"That man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mud-puddles, or gives me any best place! And ain't I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! I have ploughed and planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain't I a woman? I could work as much and eat as much as a man - when I could get it - and bear the lash as well! And ain't I a woman? I have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery, and when I cried out with my mother's grief, none but Jesus heard me!
And ain't I a woman?"

"Do they think that men who have been able to enjoy the blessing of liberty will calmly see it snatched away? They supported their chains only so long as they did not know any condition of life more happy than that of slavery. But today when they have left it, if they had a thousand lives they would sacrifice them all rather than be forced into slavery again ... We have known how to face dangers to obtain our liberty, but we shall know how to brave death to maintain it."
Toussaint L'Ouverture

"There is no value in flattery. I wouldn't flatter you to save my life. And unfortunately we are the most careless and indifferent people in the world. Must I flatter you when England, France, Italy, Belgium and Spain are all concentrating on robbing every square inch of African territory, the land of our fathers?
Must I flatter you when the cry is being loudly raised for a white America, Canada, Australia and Europe, and a yellow and brown Asia?
I find all other peoples preparing themselves for the struggle to survive, and you, still smiling, eating, drinking, dancing and sleeping away your lives, as if yesterday were the beginning of the age of pleasure."
Marcus Garvey

The Afrocentrist asks the question, “What would African people do if there were no white people?” In other words, what natural responses would occur in the relationships, attitudes toward the environment, kinship patterns, preferences for colors, type of religion, and historical referent points for African people if there had not been any intervention of colonialism or enslavement?
Afrocentricity answers this question by asserting the central role of the African subject within the context of African history, thereby removing Europe from the center of the African reality. In this way, Afrocentricity becomes a revolutionary idea because it studies ideas, concepts, events, personalities, and political and economic processes from a standpoint of black people as subjects and not as objects, basing all knowledge on the authentic interrogation of location.

One must be Afrikan to be Afrikan. Meaning: you can't simply understand or read up on the Afrikan worldview, write a book on it, and then one way or another you will be "Afrocentric" regardless of your race. Only Afrikans can be Afrikan-Centered.
People of other races can be understanding at best."

"One of the things that made the Black Muslim movement grow was its emphasis upon things African. This was the secret to the growth of the Black Muslim movement. African blood, African origin, African culture, African ties. And you'd be surprised - we discovered that deep within the subconscious of the black man in this country , he is still more African than he is American."

"Usually, when people talk about the “strength” of black women they are referring to the way in which they perceive black women coping with oppression. They ignore the reality that to be strong in the face of oppression is not the same as overcoming oppression, that endurance is not to be confused with transformation."

Greetings and Peace Ankhor Man,
Most of my images, I've simply archived, over years particpating on the Internet. The sources are varied - anything relating to our people that can educate or empower us, I'll try and store. Many images, like I think the African Warrior Queen above, come from other Pan African networks/messsage boards ( USA Site) I belong to. Due to the passing of time, I can't say which group specifically, its been on my hard drive a long time. Thanks for your support.

The brighter day is rising upon Afrika. Already I seem to see chains dissolved, her deserts plains red with harvest, her Abyssinia and Zululand the seats of science and religion/tradition, reflecting the glory of the rising SUN from the spirit of their churches/Tabernacles and universities.

The History of Justice
"Only 30 white people out of the 18,766 people executed in the United States between 1739 and 1944, were executed for killing African Americans...And of those 30 white people convicted and executed, ten murdered slaves and two of those ten were slave owners prosecuted for destroying their property under the laws of the day, not for the destruction of black life. "Simply because we choose to forget a traumatic event, simply because we choose not learn of a traumatic history and a history that may make us feel ashemed, does not mean that that history is not controlling our behavior. Simply because we don't know our history, and may have not heard of it, does not mean that the history does not control our behavior. One of the most profound things that we've learned in psychology is that the most powerful forces that shape human behavior are those factors that are consciously not remembered by human beings, that are unknown by the person, are those experiences the individual can swear he's never had.
That is one of the paradoxes of human behavior, that the very things that shape us and make us behave the way we do, see the world the way we see it and relate to people the way we relate to them, are those things that occurred in our lives at points we cannot remember or recall."

Motherhood
“All the time we’ve blamed white men, and institutions, but where do these men come from? Where are the institutions coming from- they have a mother. They have an original place. I suggest we look at the mental womb and the physical womb of White women so that we can gain a better understanding.”
“Collectively Black women teach how to survive while being oppressed. And collectively White women teach how to maintain oppression.”
